Audi India will launch the Audi Q2 crossover-SUV in India, in a short while. The Q2, measuring in at just under 4.2m long, will be both, the most compact, and the most affordable Audi in India. With the Q2, Audi India will give customers a 5-yr comprehensive service package, a 2+3yr extended warranty and 2+3yr of roadside assistance.

Design sketches for the Audi Q2 show how close the production car has come to the vision of a muscular compact crossover, with its blistered fenders and wide stance.
Powering the Audi Q2 is a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, developing 190PS and 320Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG (twin-clutch) automatic. It makes for a claimed 0-100kmph in a sprightly 6.5 seconds. The quattro all-wheel drive in the Q2 is via an electro-hydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch, which can direct up to a 50:50 split of torque between the front and rear wheels depending on the need.
An indication of how usable the Q2 will be comes from its 355/405-litre boot capacity (all-wheel drive/front-wheel drive) but the inclusion of all-wheel drive will likely be its biggest differentiator in a segment with no direct competition, at least until the new-gen Mercedes-Benz GLA arrives later this year.
Just as a reference, the changes to the wide and squat Q2 are minor, and include restyled standard LED headlights, a lower-set grille, and reprofiled bumpers front and rear.
The Q2 wears unmistakeably-Audi styling, and was one of the first new cars designed by Audi head of design, Marc Lichter, who joined the company in 2014. Lichter is also responsible for several other Audi models, including the Audi Q8 concept, the production model of which was launched in India last year, with the 600PS Audi RS Q8 joining the lineup recently.
The Audi Q2 will be the most compact model that Audi sells in India, with dimensions of 4,190mm in length, 1,794mm in width and 1,538mm in height, riding on a wheelbase of 2,595mm.
