Mahindra Reva NXR to have Continental India developed electronics
Continental India will be providing sophisticated electronics and electrical components for the upcoming Reva NXR electric car. The key things amongst the components will be the Basic Function Controller (BFC), remote keyless entry and immobilizer.
Continental's BFC is designed to be implemented as a body electronics feature and is already available in a wide range of cars, starting from entry level models to luxury cars and is easily upgradable to meet future requirements. The company currently supplies critical vehicle components like airbag sensors, ABS and all-digital instrument clusters for the two and four-wheeler industry in India and abroad.
President of the interior division and member of the executive board of Continental AG, Helmut Matschi said, "We are the first to supply such technology for an electric car in India. It is difficult for an electric car because operations can't draw too much power from the battery compared to a gasoline car."
