May 2015 issue of OVERDRIVE on stands now
We're over 200 issues old and we couldn't have may-de it this far without some epic stories to tell we take a trip down memory lane in this month's issue. As part of our bicentenary celebrations, Alan, Rishaad and Shumi set out to cover 200km on two litres of petrol in the most fuel-efficient motorcycles of the day the Bajaj Platina 100 ES, the Hero Splendor iSmart and the Honda Dream Neo star in a story that made Rishaad Mody cry Mayday because the bike he was riding would just go on find out which one inside this month's OVERDRIVE.
As the Bajaj RS200 hits our streets, Shumi rides it to find out just how much mayhem can you expect from the motorcycle. While the Suzuki Gixxer is a may-jor player in its segment, Shumi takes its clothed sibling, the SF to see if it can be one too. And then in pastoral New Zealand, Shumi is delighted with the very India-correct Yamaha MT-07 which, much to his dis-may, is not India-bound.
Bert's may-den tryst with an all-American Corvette is made rather special with a spin around the Yas Marina Circuit in a Stingray while Alan tests the Corvette engine on water in a Smoky Mountain jetboat. Back home, Halley may-ntains that adding the GTS badge to any Porsche makes it a lot more fun to drive as seen in the Boxster and the Cayman he drove. And then, he took three modern day drop tops to meet one of the few classic roadsters from the 1930s that remay-n intact to this day. In Malaysia, Jamshed gets his hands on the Toyota Vios which could be a serious contender to the Honda City but is it coming to India? Definitely, maybe.
Is the Benelli TNT 300 really as amay-zing as it sounds? Shumi samples a green example of the Italian bike to find out. Speaking of green, Rohit gets to drive the BMW i8 that stands tall as the mayor of greensville with its eco-friendly electric motor that doesn't compromise its sportscar pedigree.
On the motorsport end of things, Vaishali interviews rallying may-stro Walter Rohrl in his house in Germany and finds out what goes into the making of a legend. Meanwhile, Rishabh gets to witness some awesome rallying in the North East at the Arunachal Festival Of Speed.
