Milo Pavlovi? and Edoardo Piscopo are the 2014 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo World Final champions
The second Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo World Final was held in Sepang, Malaysia. The World Final is a face off between the best racers from the European, Asian and American series.
Last year saw the first World Final happen at the Vallelunga circuit in Rome where American Andrew Palmer was crowned champion. This year however, both the Asian and European series saw their final races being held in Sepang before the World Final itself. Chinese entrants, Max Wiser and Jiang Xin, who already won the championship in the Shanghai round suffered a DNF in race one of the Asia series final but managed to win race two. Meanwhile, in the European series final, Andrea Amici won both races but the duo of Edoardo Piscopo and Milo Pavlovi? were crowned overall champions before heading into the world final
The grid this year was much larger, with 35 cars making it to the start line on race day. Qualifying for the World Final was aced by Alberto Viberti however he couldn't hold on to it in the race and Pavlovi?/Piscopo eventually took the win for their team Bonaldi Motorsport. In race two, Mirko Bortolotti, also of Bonaldi Motorsport put a stunning performance to finish on top after starting at the 13th position. Pavlovi?/Piscopo played it safe, settling for second position and ultimately being crowned the world champions.
Next year the series moves on to the brand new Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo that features rear wheel drive, lower weight and 50PS more than the current Gallardo 570-4 Super Trofeo. Participants can run either a Huracan or a Gallardo in 2015 and both cars will be awarded separately. After Europe and Asia in the last two years, Sebring in USA will be hosting next year's final.
