2016 MRF FF1600 champion will win full season in MRF Challenge
MRF Tyres and JA Motorsport have announced that the winner of the MRF FF1600 category in the 2016 MMSC-FMSCI National Racing Championship, will be awarded a full season in the 2016 MRF Challenge. The budget for a full season of the MRF Challenge ($ 50,000) will be taken care of by the organisers. The runner-up in the MRF F1600 category will win one race in the 2016 MRF Challenge.
The MMSC had also recently announced that the 2016 MRF F1600 champion would be sent for the Mazda Road to Indy shootout. The winner of that event gets a $ 200,000 scholarship to participate in the Verizon IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis 500.
JA Motorsport's J Anand said, "We welcome the news from MRF Tyres confirming that the winner of the MRF FF1600 championship will get a free all-expense paid drive in the 2016 MRF Challenge. We are offering the opportunity for young drivers to participate with the best in Europe on circuits that host top international races like Formula 1 and WEC. We are not just helping drivers race, but we are providing the opportunity for them to climb up the motorsport ladder."
The first round of MRF FF1600 championship will be held at the Madras Motor Racing Track (MMRT) from January 29-31 as part of the 2016 National Racing Championship. A test session for those who want participate in the 2016 season will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway, in Coimbatore, between January 11 and 12.

| December 29, 2015: MRF Tyres, India's leading tyre manufacturer, and JA Motorsport today announced that the winner of the 2016 MMSC-FMSCI MRF F1600 National Racing Championship will be awarded with a full season in the 2016 MRF Challenge. The runner-up will get will be awarded one race in the MRF Challenge. In addition MMSC also recently announced that winner of the MRF Formula 1600 series will be sent for the Mazda Road to Indy shootout, the winner of which will receive a scholarship of USD 200,000. This will make the MRF F1600 series the most prized series in Indian motorsports. As has been the trend in the last two years, the MRF F1600 championship will begin in January, as the main support race for the 2015 MRF Challenge finale. In the Indian based international series MRF Challenge features some of the best young upcoming drivers from across the world competing in Formula One race tracks. The MRF F1600 championship will be 10 race series that will take place over 5 race weekends spread over the course of the year. Round 1 will take place at the MMRT in Chennai from January 29-31. The budget for the MRF Challenge is currently 000 for the full season, which will be given free of cost to the winner of the 2016 MRF F1600 title. This year has seen drivers like Karthik Tharani Singh (2015 MRF F1600 Champion) and Arjun Narendran (2015 MRF F1600 2nd runner up) take on drivers like Nobuharu Matsushita (GP2), Pietro Fittipaldi (F3), Tatiana Calderon (F3) and perform impressively. The drivers have had to learn more about the MRF F2000 car tackle new circuits and work with some of the best engineers from across Europe.
