No sun film needed, Honda Amaze comes with built in heat absorbing windows
There is a stern crackdown all across the country on cars equipped with sun film. Security reasons apart the no sun film in a tropical country like India in which most parts face severe heat through the year has at least got me boiling. But what few people know is that the legislation does not refuse owners from using sun film just the ones that are tinted. Now there are non tinted films available in the market that you can fit onto your windows or like Honda you can hope your manufacturer too fits their cars with a heat absorbent windscreen.
The technology isnt new, and heat absorbent glass was developed way back in the 1950s but its only recently that it has found more widespread application in the automotive industry. Honda uses the heat absorbent glass for their windshields and this keeps a significant amount of IR and other visible spectrums of light and heat out of the car. It also works in a manner of speaking as a sun control film. So in summers while it keeps the heat out in winters it will not allow interior heat to escape.
The windshield is exclusively supplied for Amaze by AIS, a company jointly promoted by B. M Labroo & Associates, Asahi Glass Co.Ltd. (AGC) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
