November 2020 sales: Bajaj Auto sells 3.84 lakh two-wheelers, registering a growth of 12 per cent

Indian two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto has sold a total of 3.84 lakh units in the month of November 2020, which is 12 per cent more compared to the same month last year. In the domestic market, the company has sold 1.88 lakh units, which as compared to the November 2019's performance of 1.76 lakh units is an increment of 7 per cent. Even in exports, Bajaj Auto sold a 1.96 lakh units in November this year, marking an 18 per cent growth compared to November 2019's 1.67 lakh units. The commercial business, however, saw a decline of 66 per cent in November 2020 with a sale of 10,737 units as compared to 31,438 last year. Exports of commercial vehicles saw a dip of 6 per cent from 28,339 in November 2019 to 26,510 in November 2020. Overall, the commercial business saw a decline of 38 per cent in November 2020.

In terms of April to November 2020 performance, Bajaj Auto sold a total of 11.93 lakh units of two-wheelers, 23 per cent decline from last year's 15.51 lakh units. Even the exports were down by 18 per cent which was 12.58 lakh units last year, dropping to 10.26 lakh units this year. Overall, the two-wheeler performance dropped b 21 per cent from last year's 28.09 lakh units to 22.19 lakh unis this year.

The negative trend with the commercial business continued from April to November 2020, as a total of 51,940 units were sold in this period as compared to 2.61 lakh units last year, witnessing a drop of 80 per cent. The exports for CVs in this period was down by 26 per cent from 2.16 lakh units to 1.59 lakh units this year. Overall, Bajaj Auto's commercial business witnessed a decline of 56 per cent in this period. In terms of total two-wheeler and commercial sales during April to November 2020, Bajaj Auto saw a decline of 31 per cent in the domestic market with a sale of 12.44 lakh units versus 18.12 lakh units and a drop of 20 per cent in exports with a sale of 11.85 lakh units as compared to 14.74 units. In total, the YTD performance of Bajaj Auto was 26 per cent lower this year compared to the last.
