Renault India is trying to offer its customers the extra benefit with new offers and schemes. The latest from the company is for the Pulse diesel. Renault, for a limited period is offering the Pulse diesel at the same price as the petrol model. The Pulse RxL diesel now comes at a price of Rs 5.19 lakh ex-showroom as against Rs 6.40 lakh earlier.

The Renault Pulse is the company's entry level offering in our market. While sales initially were good, the Pulse soon was playing second fiddle to its stable mates like the Duster and Scala, To spruce up the quotient, Renault India is also throwing in two years additional warranty and four years roadside assistance for free. The Pulse is not the only one with a tempting offer. Even the  high selling 85PS Duster RxL is now priced at Rs 9.29 lakh as opposed to the Rs 9.57 lakh ex-Mumbai earlier. The Duster RxL AWD which was launched recently also gets a price cut and is now for Rs 11.29 lakh for the RxL variant as against 11.89 lakh.

That's not all. The benevolence extends to even the Scala which now starts at Rs 8.01 lakh for  the RxL variant. Like the Pulse, even this gets a two year additional warranty as well as four year roadside assistance for free. It is sure that Renault is doing these to attract more customers to its showrooms, especially towards the diesel variants which have seen a dip in demand due to the now narrow gap between petrol and diesel prices. Diesel vehicles command a premium of approximately Rs one lakh over their petrol equivalents. Renault India initiating could very well pave the way for other manufacturers to follow suit and we might see a new price war happening soon.
