Skoda India announces 'Certified Pre-owned' used-car program
Skoda India has entered the used-car market with its Certified Pre-owned program. In its first phase, this programme will be operational in Mumbai, Delhi (NCR), Coimbatore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Hyderabad, and Goa. A nationwide roll-out will follow in the next 12 months.
Skoda Certified Pre-Owned program will sell cars, both from Skoda's own range and other brands, assessed by trained professionals through 160 plus points of inspection. Wherever needed, original spares and parts will be used when these cars are being refurbished. Skoda cars bought through this program will come with a manufacturer-backed warranty of 24 months or 1.5 lakh km, whichever is earlier. For non-Skoda cars, the warranty period will be 12 months or 15,000 km. A roadside assistance facility will also be offered to buyers. For customers who trade in their cars for a Skoda, there will be exchange bonuses offered.
A new website for the Skoda's pre-owned arm has also been launched. This will give visitors access to a live consultation suite and a contactless virtual product demonstration option. Prospective buyers will be able to access these facilities via video conferencing after signing up on their smartphones, tablets and PCs. A dedicated pool of technicians, evaluators as well as sales consultants across dealerships will help solve buyer queries. Further, insurance and finance schemes, complimentary transfer of ownership documents, access to complete service history, and mileage assurance certificate will be offered, among other things.
