Skoda Octavia Laurin and Klement launched in UK
Skoda has launched the flagship Laurin and Klement (L&K) version of the Octavia in UK markets starting at 26,410 pounds (Rs 26,76,162). The premium flagship is based on the Elegance trims and will be available in two variants, the sedan and estate. The L&K version will be placed ahead of the Elegance trim and will be available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines.

On the outside the Skoda Octavia L&K model gets bi-Xenon headlights with adaptive front light system and LED DRLs, rear LED lights, chrome window surrounds, cornering front fog lights and 18-inch turbine design alloy wheels. The interiors get L&K logos inside the cabin with the seats getting brown Alcantara and leather upholstery seen on the dashboard and door trims. Comfort is enhanced by the heated front seats which are electrically adjustable and get memory function. Entertainment is provided by a Canton audio system. Safety features which come as standard are adaptive cruise control with front assistant, lane assist and park assist.

Choice of engines include a 1.8-litre TSI petrol capable of 180 horses and 250Nm of peak torque and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel which makes 150PS of max power and peak turning force of 320Nm. The 1.8-litre TSI engine gets a choice of six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic box with the 2.0-litre diesel engine getting the option of a six-speed manual and six-speed DSG autobox. Claimed combined fuel efficiency figures for the petrol and diesel with manual transmission is 16.39kmpl and 24.39kmpl respectively. Company says that the same petrol and diesel engines give combined figures of 17.56kmpl and 22.23kmpl with automatic transmission.
Customers can also specify their Octavia Elegance with the aforementioned features for approximately Rs 4 lakh more.

The entry level diesel, the 2.0-litre TDI CR 150PS DPF hatch with CO2 emissions of just 106g/km, is £26,410. This is the most appealing option for corporate customers because the BIK rate for 2014/15 is just 17%.
