Skoda showcases new Rapid
The Skoda Rapid was launched in India a few months back and the company is now ready with a new Rapid for the European market. The face-lifted Rapid has the new design language first shown on the Mission L concept car. The grille shows a chrome frame and is formed by vertical slats with the headlights resembling a cloverleaf shape. The European Rapid is built on the Fabia platform, same as ours, albeit an extended one. The extension promises to liberate more space inside the cabin while keeping the exterior dimensions compact.
The new Rapid will be offered with a choice of five petrol and two diesel engines. Skoda will be displaying the Rapid at the upcoming Paris Auto Show and knowing the VW group's knack of kitting their cars, expect the European Rapid to have an excellent price-value proposition when it will be launched. It is positioned between the Fabia and Octavia (same as in India but internationally our Laura is called Octavia) and will be in European showrooms shortly after its debut at the Auto Show.
Is it coming to India soon? Well, keep your fingers crossed.
