Spied: 2015 Hyundai i20 spotted testing in India
The Hyundai i20 is doing well for the Korean manufacturer in India but the current model will soon be discontinued to make way for the second generation car. The new i20 is going to be unveiled to the world at the Paris motor show this year. Hyundai has however already started testing the car in India and other parts of the world. This test mule was spotted around Hyundai's Chennai plant. Avid OVERDRIVE reader Vikram M from Chennai has sent us these pictures.
There will be a new grille, headlamps and also alloy wheels
The new Hyundai i20 looks noticeably wider and slightly shorter now, the overall length can't be longer than 4m thanks to our excise duty regulations. We though expect the car to be slightly longer than the current i20. There will be a new grille, headlamps and also alloy wheels. Hyundai will update the current bulbs to LEDs at the rear. Going by Hyundai's recent launches, expect the new i20 to also offer first in segment comfort features.
The glass area is also larger and the car is expected to offer class leading space thanks to better management inside the cabin

In terms of engines, the new i20 is expected to feature an updated 1.2-litre petrol Kappa motor and an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine. It is rumoured that the next-gen i20 will also have a performance-oriented variant from Hyundai's N division.
