Suzuki has launched the GSX-S siblings in India today. We had recently reported that these two new bikes would join Suzuki's already impressive list of superbikes sold in India. Suzuki claims that their new bikes not only have "sharp styling and power, but also are practical for everyday usage".

Both the GSX-S 1000F and GSX-S 1000 bikes are based on the well acclaimed GSX-1000R track bike and are powered by the same 999cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine which makes 142PS of power, mated to a six speed gearbox.
Both bikes are feature loaded with distance to empty real-time mileage indicators, three riding modes, traction control and all digital instrument clusters.

Suzuki hasn't revealed performance or efficiency figures yet, but we expect the GSX-S 1000F to be more composed on highway rides due to its large fairing compared to its naked sibling.
Atul Gupta, executive vice president, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd, said, "The GSX-S1000 is a naked roadster with an aggressive look, while the GSX-S1000F is its fully faired sibling. Their supersport genes deliver smooth, controlled handling and dynamic acceleration. We are launching these models globally and in India at the same time so that Indian motorcycle enthusiasts can lay their hands on the latest, top of the line Suzuki products. These motorcycles cater to the rider who wants a performance street motorcycle. These sport roadsters have expanded our already diverse big motorcycle lineup."
The Suzuki GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F are both available only in two colours - Candy Daring Red /Glass and Sparkle Black and Metallic Triton Blue. We expect more colours to be introduced later.

The GSX-S 1000 will cost you Rs12.25 lakh and we expect it to face stiff competition from Kawasaki's Z1000, Honda's CB 1000R, the Ducati Monster 1200 and the Yamaha FZ1.
The fully faired GSX-S 1000F will set you back by Rs12.70 lakh and will go up against the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Honda CBR 1000RR. Both the prices are ex-Delhi.
