This is really shocking news! American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) has announced that it has filed for bankruptcy under chapter 11 of United States law. Suzuki will no longer be selling new cars and trucks there, however, it will still continue to sell motorcycles, marine equipment and ATVs. The existing Suzuki car owners are however assured of continued support with regards to warranty and spare parts.
The reason cited behind this pullout is low sales volumes, foreign exchange rates and limited number of models in the line up plus the entire cost of the automotive distribution system for US. Suzuki will though continue to sell its cars in other parts of the world.
