The Nano eMax was first unveiled at Tata's Horizonext event held in June this year. The Nano eMax is powered by the same 624cc petrol engine that comes with the standard Nano combined with a pair of CNG cylinders snugged under the driver's seat. Tata sites ARAI figures to claim to be the most fuel efficiency car at 36km/kg with the lowest carbon footprint of 75.6 g/km.

The CNG capacity is of six litres and the car switches automatically to petrol once it runs out of 'gas'. There are two variants namely CX and LX, the latter will be priced at Rs 2.77 lakh, ex-Mumbai.
The Nano eMax costs about Rs50,000 more than the petrol version. It is yet unconfirmed but a first batch of emax cars seem to have made it to Tata dealerships. Expect deliveries to start soon.
