Toyota Innova Crysta sales to begin in Delhi-NCR from August
The new generation Toyota Innova Crysta was launched in May this year. Priced at Rs 13.83 lakh (ex-Mumbai), the Innova Crysta is presently available in two diesel engine options - 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre. However, owing to the ban on the 2,000cc diesel vehicles, Toyota was not able to sell its popular MPV in the Delhi-NCR region. This is set to change with the introduction of the Toyota Innova Crysta petrol which is scheduled to happen early next month.
Powering the upcoming Innova Crysta petrol is a four-cylinder 2.7-litre motor. This motor is also offered in the Innova sold in the middle east, albeit in a different state of tune. The motor for India generates 164PS of power at 5200 rpm and makes 245Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The GX and the ZX variants will come equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission whereas the VX trim will be offered with a manual transmission only.
Toyota dealers all over the country have alreadybegun accepting bookings for the Innova Crysta petrol. They have also confirmed that the upcoming Innova Crysta petrol will be available in four variants - GX, VX and ZX. The feature list in these variants will be similar to their diesel counterparts. The top-spec ZX variant will come equipped with dual-zone (front and rear) climate control system, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with navigation, ambient lighting, and many other features. The VX and GX do miss on those features but get three airbags as standard.
One can book the Innova Crysta petrol by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh at any Toyota dealership in India. This amount is completely refundable where the customer can get the amount back in a week's time. While the launch is slated to take place in the first week of August, the deliveries of the Innova Crysta petrol are expected to begin by the last week of August. Also, Toyota will launch the Crysta petrol all across the country from the very beginning and not target specific regions hit by the ban. It has not been too long that the dealerships have started taking bookings, thus there is no waiting period as such. This was confirmed by one of the company's dealers.
In addition to this being a good news for those longing to get the new Innova Crysta in Delhi -NCR, the launch may also bring relief for Toyota India. Toyota along with other manufacturers like Mahindra and Mercedes-Benz has not been able to sell its 2,000cc+ diesel vehicles in this region ever since the ban came into effect. However, despite the ban, Toyota reported an impressive growth in Innova's sales.
