TVS Logistics acquires Wainwright Industries
Leading logistics service provider TVS logistics have acquired US-based end-to-end supply chain provider based in the US, Wainwright Industries. This is the second acquisition by TVS Logistics in the US after MESCO in 2011. Wainwright Industries is expected to help TVS Logistics with sub-assembly for manufacturers and cross-docking. The latter is Wainwright's USP and is basically a document control and traceability system through which materials can be managed efficiently and supplied for just-in-time production. Wainwright also does sub-assembly for its clients. TVS Logistics will continue with the existing management for Wainwright and David Robbins will continue to spearhead the US operations. This acquisition will also help the sub-assembly facility that TVS Logistics built for Ashok Leyland in 2011 at Sholavaram. Ashok Leyland uses this facility to sub-assemble their Genset engine powerpacks.
Announcing the acquisition, R. Dinesh, managing director, TVS Logistics Services Ltd. said, "With the acquisition of Wainwright, we have covered all the capabilities required to provide end-to-end production supply chain solutions. With this, we can go to the customer to offer a complete outsourcing model."
David Robbins, president, Wainwright Industries, said, "Both the companies share a lot of common values and synergies in our respective businesses. This deal also gives Wainwright the tremendous potential of expanding its offering across USA."
