TVS Racing has been a pioneer in terms of bike racing in India ever since its inaugural season in 1987. It aims at honing the skills of young riders by holding the One Make Championships at the MMRT, Chennai and BIC, Noida every year. They supply the riders with race spec machines and experts to guide and improve their track experience. A lot of what they learn from their racing department also trickles into the development of their street bikes like the new Apache RTR 200 4V.

The Alisha Abdullah Academy for Women was established in 2014 in Chennai by Alisha Abdullah, noted Indian car and bike racer. The main aim in setting up the institute was to provide young female riders with the training and track experience required for racing in India and abroad alike.

A total of 18 riders have been selected by the academy after reviewing a total of 80 applications and they will race exclusively in the first instalment of this collaboration. These riders are presently being trained to improve their physical fitness and racing skills.

Speaking on the occasion Alisha Abdullah had this to say, “We are proud to be associated with TVS Racing as it is India’s most professional two-wheeler racing team with the best motorbikes and trainers. This association will help the academy develop the best talent among women racers as they get exclusive access to best in class machines, racers and technology. I also hope our racing academy attracts and encourages more women racers to get into motorsports in India.”
