Unveiled 2013 BMW S1000RR HP4
BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2013 S1000RR HP4. The HP4 is an S1000RR with parts from BMW's High Performance bin. The company lays claims to this being the lightest 4-cylinder supersports motorcycle in its segment â" 169kg dry weight with Race ABS and 199kg with 90 per cent fuel. Lighter carbon parts, lighter battery, titanium exhaust and forged wheels are said to have contributed to this weight loss. This new motorcycle has also been fitted with Dynamic Damping Control or DDC as standard. DDC, which is the world's first on a production motorcycle is an electronically adjustable suspension which automatically adjusts to the road surfaces and riding conditions. BMW have also kitted the HP4 with launch control, adapted wheelie detection and shift assistant.
The engine specs though are unchanged â" 194PS of power at 13,000rpm and 112Nm of torque at 9,750rpm. Price estimates hover around the Rs 13.59 lakh mark, excluding duties.
