Unveiled 2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2013 G-Class SUV in UK. The refreshed G-Class now has LED daytime running lamps, new design 5-spoke alloy wheels and a new grille. Inside, Parktronic assistance is now standard as also are the Comand Online system, instrument cluster with colour display, heated mirrors with electric folding and a Harman Kardon music system with surround sound.
A 550PS G63 AMG is the new addition to the G-Class range apart from the 211PS G350 BlueTec. The 4.4-litre V8 AMG engine produces 760Nm of torque, which is 60Nm more than the outgoing G55 AMG. Mercedes however claim that inspite of the gain in torque and power, the G63 delivers a combined 7.36kmpl, a 15 per cent increase over the G55 AMG's fuel efficiency figure. The G-Class is fitted with permanent all-wheel drive, fully engageable differential locks, four wheel Electronic Traction System (4ETS) and a low-range gear reduction system.
The new G-Class will go into production starting September 2012 with a price tag of Rs 71.74 lakh for the G 350 BlueTec and Rs 1.06 crore for the G63 AMG on-road in UK.
