Unveiled 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG
Mercedes-Benz has been unveiling model after model in the two months that the year 2013 has seen. Now slated for a Geneva Auto Show 2013 debut is the new Mercedes A45 AMG. Boasting a power output of 360PS and 450Nm of torque from its claimed most powerful 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo engine in production, the A45 AMG sprints from 0-100kmph in just 4.6 seconds with an electronically limited top whack of 250kmph. Mercedes claims a fuel efficiency of 14.48kmpl. All this is possible thanks to a host of features such as twin-scroll turbocharger, gravity-die sandcast all-aluminium crankcase, weight-optimised crank assembly with forged steel crankshaft and forged pistons with friction-optimised piston rings, NANOSLIDE cylinder wall technology, air-water charge air cooling and generator management. Helping it put all this power down to the road in an effective manner is the AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive The A45 AMG will be the first car that Mercedes' tuning division AMG has worked on below the C-Class.
The A45 AMG, just like the other AMG cars gets all the shenanigans one will expect from the brand. There is AMG sport suspension tuned to give maximum driving pleasure, speed-sensitive sport steering and ventilated and perforated disc brakes all around. A twin blade radiator grille, typical for AMG cars can also be found on the A45. Twin-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels and side sills in matte titanium grey complete the side profile. Twin square, chrome plated tailpipes round off the rear end.
The A45 AMG looks a high probable for the Indian market considering the fact that Mercedes has confirmed that the A-Class is on its way here this year.
