Time has come to wake you up all because September is going to end soon. First thing first, one of our biggest stories. This month we had the opportunity to spend some time with the new star on the horizon - Mercedes GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe. Rishaad shares why the new Merc is the best proportioned SUV-Coupe we've ever seen.

Overdrive - October 2016

Isuzu Motors, as you all know, is the first automaker to bring down an international pick-up to the Indian market. Rishaad drove the D-Max V-Cross and found it tempting. Inspired, Bert took the D-Max to Ladakh to find out if the D-Max is one of the most versatile vehicles in India today. Back in Mumbai, Ashok goes for a disco with the Land Rover Discovery Sport petrol. Does the petrol variant justify the extra money it asks? You'll have to read his story to find out.

Next up, Rahul puts the all-new Hyundai Elantra up against its closest rivals, the Skoda Octavia and Chevrolet Cruze. Although the C+ segment is seeing a slow death in India, Rahul finds out if it can break free of the chain that tied the Octavia and Cruze down. Now some déjà vu moments. Fiat has got another crossover, the Avventura Urban Cross. Though the Urban Cross looks identical to the Avventura, Aditya drives it to discover how different the new crossover feels.

Harley lovers, we've got something for you too. Harley-Davidson has launched its all-new engine Milwaukee-Eight to power the new Touring line of motorcycles, and the engine is coming to India soon. Shumi went Seattle to ride both the Road King and Road Glide to get a sense of where Harley-Davidson is going with this new powertrain.

Shumi also headed to Bonneville Salt Flats to witness history as Triumph was there trying to break the land speed record with its Infor Rocket Streamliner. The two 1,485cc turbo inline 3-cylinder 1,000PS Streamliner may fail to break the record, but you need to read Shumi's story to know why going fast is a slow business.

October also marks the beginning of the festive season in India, and what would be a better time to buy a new car or bike. In order to add a little more firecracker this festive season, OVERDRIVE has compiled a list of all the cars and bikes coming our way from now until the end of the year. You better hide your chequebooks!

In motorsports, Martin Homes reveals all the quirky cars you won't get to see first-hand as the World Rally Championship drops China. Then Michael Scott writes about Cal Crutchlow who has become the first British rider to win a MotoGP race in 35 years. Yes, it is 'fantastiCal'. All this along with our usual fare of in-depth motorsport coverage and detailed reporting and analysis of all that's happened in the automobile world this past month.
