2012 Toyota Camry to be launched in India on August 24
Toyota Kirloskar Motors' flagship model in India, the Camry will be launched on August 24. The Camry in its new avatar will have a 2.5-litre dual VVT-i petrol engine producing 181PS of power and 233Nm of torque, up from 167PS and 224Nm of the outgoing car. It will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard.
With a styling package resembling the Accord, the new Camry comes across as a striking vehicle. There is a big chrome grille flanked by angular headlamps and the interiors are a mix of leather and wood. The alloys wheels are also a new unit. Toyota will now be assembling the new Camry at its Bangalore plant, due to which we expect it to be priced very competitively, around Rs 19 lakh.
