2014 Yamaha Fazer FI version 2.0 launched in India at Rs 83,850
Yamaha has launched the updated Fazer FI version 2.0 in India at Rs 83,850 ex-Delhi. The new Fazer's headlamp enclosed in the fairing sees a minor revision as do the side panels. There are new graphics as well.
The biggest change has happened to the Fazer's engine. It hasthe 'Blue Core' technology which Yamaha recently debuted in the FZ version 2.0. Blue Core claims to enhance the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle without compromising on the power and fun to ride factor. The fuel injected engine now displaces 149cc, down from the previous bike's 153cc and makes 13.1PS of power and 12.8Nm of torque. Power is also down by 0.9PS while torque has reduced by 0.8Nm. It comes mated to a five-speed transmission. Yamaha claims that this engine is 14 per cent more fuel efficient than the earlier 153cc motor. Yamaha also claims that the weight savings over the old bike help offset the reduced power.
Other changes in the Fazer include a new instrument console which gets a eco indicator, updated chassis with new front and rear suspension as well as new puncture resistant tyres. There are three colours on offer- Red Dawn, White Cloud and Black Hawk.
