2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA launched in India at Rs 30.65 lakh
Mercedes-Benz India has updated the GLA crossover to make it a strong rival of the BMW X1 and the Audi Q3. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA is priced at Rs 30.65 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated GLA was revealed earlier this year just before the Detroit Motor Show. The facelift brings along only cosmetic changes, whereas the powertrain options have been left unchanged.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift gets redesigned headlights wherein full-LEDs have replaced the bi-xenon set-up, offered in the previous model. The grille design too has been altered to give a wider front profile. The other changes done to the design are the tweaked bumpers and new lightweight alloy wheels. Similar to the international model, Mercedes-Benz India has also introduced the new canyon beige yellow paint scheme that makes the GLA look way smarter than before. This can be seen with the contrasting elements in the design. The changes in the design have also made the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA more aerodynamic than before with a coefficient of drag of 0.28, compared to the 0.29 of the previous iteration.
The cabin of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift offers similar lines as seen in the previous model. The highlight of the cabin is the new 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options. The instrumental cluster has been updated with new dials and red needles to make it look sportier than before. The electric seat adjustment switches as well as the stowage compartment in the centre console are now finished in chrome. There is a revision in the colour of seats with Artico leather to make it look more premium than before.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA continues to be powered with an option between the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.1-litre diesel engines. The GLA facelift, like its predecessor, is assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Chakan.
