2017 Mitsubishi Xpander MPV unveiled in Indonesia
Mitsubishi's all-new Xpander MPV has been showcased at the 2017 Indonesia Motor Show. Mitsubishi claims that it is the most spacious 7-seater MPV. The utility vehicle is built on a Triton pick-up's underpinnings and looks quite aggressive. The 4.5m-long MPV boasts a 205mm ground clearance and is available with a front-wheel-drive configuration. A lone 105PS 1.5-litre engine powers the Xpander, and the motor is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed auto. While it is highly unlikely to come down to India, a duel between it and the segment leader, the Toyota Innova Crysta, will be worth watching. Here are more images of the Xpander MPV.
The Xpander was unveiled to a select audience earlier this year
The Mitsubishi Xpander looks the part and almost feels concept-ish. That it shares the family genes with the Outlander and other SUVs is quite apparent from this angle
The design flourish continues to the side of the MPV as well. This involves a lot of creases and cuts to the body work
The rear of the car sees upside-down T-shaped lights. The diffuser too looks funky
A mix of beige and grey adorns the cabin of the Xpander. There are the usual goodies that you expect from an MPV of this size and proportions --Â automatic climate control, 3-row ventilation, push-button start, lots of cubby holes and electric seat adjustment for the driver
The Xpander looks quite spacious inside and, according to the company's statement, is a comfortable 7-seater
The second-row seats can be flipped forward to liberate more space for carrying cargo
