2017 Royal Enfield customs: Custom Classic 500 by Inline3 Motorcycles
The Royal Enfield Classic series is one of the best selling models, claims the Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer. Be it is relaxed styling or the classic thump, it has clearly struck a chord with die-hard Royal Enfield enthusiasts. And thus when it came to developing a custom creation to promote the brand's new apparel and accessories collection, the Classic 500 was chosen.
However, Royal Enfield decided not to work on the Classic 500 themselves. This time around they have teamed up with four custom motorcycle builders. "Royal Enfield has always been the preferred canvas for those seeking motorcycle-nirvana through the custom route. Collaborating with the custom builders is the brand's way of celebrating a motorcycling inspired way of life. With our refreshed collection of gear and helmets inspired by these motorcycles, we assure our riders of a unique riding experience that goes far beyond just motorcycles." states Samrat Som, head, apparel and accessories business at Royal Enfield.
If roadsters are your thing, the Custom Continental GT by TNT Motorcycles is something that you should look at. However, if you are looking for an old school design, it is the custom Classic 500 by Inline3 Motorcycles that you should consider. It is not just looks but also the performance of a machines that makes it unique and distinct, states Aseem Pawar. Starting off at a very young age with DIY builds from his college days, Aseem has come a long way. He claims to be the only custom motorcycle builder in India to word extensively with aluminium, something that makes his motorcycles agile as well as durable.
Aseem explains that the design brief that was given by Royal Enfield was not to fiddle with the fuel tank and the chassis. Unlike TNT Motorcycles, Aseem stuck to the design brief. Instead of making heavy customizations, we decided to go for a simpler beach tracker look claims Aseem. And the reason behind that was the fact that Royal Enfield was planning to reveal the motorcycle at the 2016 Rider Mania in Goa.
The headlight outer casing has been specially designed to give the motorcycle an old school look. The instrumentation has been kept simple whereas the single seat pan has been designed out of copper that is connected to the main frame with the help of a wooden link. The silencer too gets copper shields for additional aesthetic appeal. The front and the rear fenders are shaped out of aluminium to make it lighter as well as rust free. And lastly, the tyres. Inline3 sourced these special whitewall Coker motorcycle tyres from the U.S. The prices for these tyres alone is close to Rs 80,000 inclusive of the import duty and taxes.
In addition to the custom Classic 500, Inline3 has also developed Flying Sikh that essentially uses a Yamaha RS 350 motor fitted on a KTM frame. There is also the Fat Free 410 that has been designed on the Royal Enfield Himalayan and that too gets an all-aluminium body. Check out their other creations here.
