2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro to be launched in India today
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati will be launching the off-road version of their most premium ADV offering, the 1260 Multistrada Enduro.ÃÂ A successor of theÃÂ Multistrada 1200 Enduro, this one has received a host of updates which are not just limited to its tweaked design. Under that updated bodywork is an array of electronics and rider aid that makes the 2019 1260 Enduro more capable than the previous offering. Most importantly, the engine makes more power and torque as Ducati has equipped this motorcycle with their latest and more powerful 1,262cc Testastretta DVT V-twin engine. Ducati will be bringing theÃÂ 2019 Multistrada 1260 Enduro through the CBU route to the country.
The engine puts out more power due to the larger displacement of theÃÂ 1,262cc Testastretta DVT V-twin setup. Compared to the previous offering,ÃÂ ÃÂ this one gets longer piston stroke from 67.9 to 71.5mm. However, the bore has been left unchanged at 106mm. The new engine comes equipped withÃÂ updated piston rods, crankshaft and also new cylinders. The DVT system has been tweaked to improve the torque delivery at lower and mid range. Ducati mentions that 85 per cent of the torque in the new Enduro is available at below 3,500rpm. Also, the torque output has been increased at 5,500rpm by 17 per cent as compared to the 1,200cc offering. The larger engine has also resulted in a better power delivery of 158PS at 9,500rpm and a torque of 127Nm at 7,500rpm. Additionally, the exhaust pipe layout has been updated with a newÃÂ pre-silencer internal layout and a redesigned air-intake. The engine also gets a new alternator cover which has the new gear sensor, that takes care of the DQS (Ducati Quick Shift) Up and Down system that allows clutchless up and downshifts.
In the 2019 Ducati Multistrada 1250 Enduro, the extensive list of updates includeÃÂ the new 5 inch TFT display for the instrument cluster. This is the same as the Multistrada 1260 and offers a better interface and easier readability on the go. The DMS or Ducati Multimedia System allows riders to sync their smartphones via Bluetooth, thereby enabling connectivity for receiving phone calls, text messages and more. The Ducati Link App customise riding mode and other settings via their phone itself apart from offering information about service schedules and the like. There's revised graphics too and 1260 is now writ large across the tank, which makes for a fresher appearance.
