2019 Hyundai Santro Anniversary Edition to be launched at Rs 5.17 lakh
Hyundai India is set to launch a new limited-edition trim for the Hyundai Santro hatchback. This is meant to commemorate the first anniversary of the launch of the new Hyundai Santro, and is called the Hyundai Santro Anniversary Edition. Prices will start at Rs 5.17 lakh, ex-showroom.
This edition is based on the mid-spec Sportz trim level and can be had with both a manual and an AMT. Changes to the Anniversary Edition are the trim bits like the wheel-covers, door-handles, and roof rails finished in gloss black. Also new are the claddings on the doors, the chrome garnish on the bootlid and special badging. This edition is available in Polar White and the new Aqua Teal shade that debuted in the Grand i10 Nios. The interior is done up in an all-black shade with blue inserts.
The Santro Anniversary Edition remains mechanically unchanged. It is powered by a heavily reworked version of the 1.1-litre, four-cylinder Epsilon petrol engine that powered the last Santro Xing and offers 69PS and 99Nm in its current guise. It debuted Hyundai's in-house developed five-speed AMT and can be optioned with a five-speed manual as well. Claimed top speed is 150kmph while claimed fuel efficiency is 20.3kmpl. Suspension duties are taken care of by McPherson struts up front and torsion beams at the rear. Lower variants run on 13-inch wheels, while higher ones run on 14 inch rims.

There's rear air-conditioning vents as well, a segment first. Safety features include ABS and driver's airbag as standard, while the higher variants are equipped with front passenger airbags as well.
Prices for the base Santro petrol manual start at Rs 3.90 lakh.
