2021 BYD e6 electric MPV launched in India for B2B operators, priced from Rs 29.15 lakh
Chinese automaker BYD has made its India debut, launching the BYD e6 electric MPV in certain cities for the B2B market. Prices for the electric MPV start from Rs 29.15 lakh without the 7 kW on-board charger, going up to Rs 29.60 lakh for the version with the charger included. The BYD e6 is on sale in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Chennai. BYD has been around in India since 2007, being a prominent player in the electric bus market via local partners.
The BYD e6 uses the firm's Blade battery tech in its 71.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The firm claims the battery can withstand overcharging to 260 per cent, nail penetrations, crushing, bending, heating to 300 degrees Celsius. This battery gives the e6 a WLTC certified city range of 520 km and a combined range of 415 km. The EV is powered by a 95PS and 180 Nm motor and can reach a 130 kmph top speed.
The e6 can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent using a DC fast charger in 35 minutes while AC charging is also supported. The Bosch braking system used can regen from as low as 2 kmph.

Based on BYD's e-Platform optimizations have been made to keep weight under check and improve space in the 5-seater e6, allowing for a 560-litre boot. The MPV sits on a MacPherson strut front suspension and a rear multilink setup. Notable features on offer include LED DRLs and tail lamps, leather seats, 6-way powered driver and front passenger seats, 10.1-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and wifi and a CN95 grade cabin air filtration system. Safety features include driver's side and front passenger seat airbags, rear parking camera and speed-sensing door locks.
2021 BYD e6 price, warrantyThe prices of the BYD e6 include a vehicle warranty of 3 years/1,25,000 kms, battery cell warranty of 8 Years/5,00,000 kms, and a motor warranty of 8 Years/150,000 kms.
