2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross BS6 specifications leaked ahead of launch
Isuzu Motors India is expected to launch the BS6 iteration of its lifestyle pick-up, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross soon. The launch seems to have been postponed to tide over the second COVID19 wave sweeping across the country but the upcoming 4x4's specifications have now been leaked online.
As per this report, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will continue to be offered in two variants, 4x2 and 4x4. The 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel continues in this iteration too. However, power has been bumped up by 13PS to 163PS at 3,600 rpm. Torque has seen a 10 Nm increase as well, now making 360 Nm at 2,000 - 2,500 rpm. Both versions come paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
The dimensions suggest that India will continue to get the last-gen Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and not the new-generation model already on sale internationally. The BS6 D-Max V-Cross will be 5,295mm long, 1,860mm wide and 1,840mm tall. The wheelbase is 3,095mm. The pick-up rides on 18-inch wheels and features disc brakes at the front and drums at the rear.
The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will feature coil-springs and an anti-roll bar at the front and leaf springs on the rear axle. The kerb weight for the 4x2 is 1,890kg while the 4x4 weighs 1,990kg.
The 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross BS6 should launch in India by May 2021 and we expect to see a Rs 50,000 to 60,000 increase in prices over the Rs 19.99 lakh starting price of the previous version. The commercial versions of the BS6 Isuzu D-Max were already launched in October last year. The V-Cross's SUV twin, the MU-X is also expected to get the same changes.
