2021 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine launched, prices start from Rs 39.90 lakh
Mercedes-Benz has launched the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine in India. Prices for the sedan start from Rs 39.90 lakh for the A 200 petrol and go up to Rs 40.90 for the A 220d diesel. The locally assembled Mercedes-AMG A 35 has been launched alongside at Rs 56.24 lakh, making it the most affordable performance sedan in the country. The A-Class is available with a three-year standard warranty and an eight-year warranty for the engine and gearbox. A two-year maintenance package can be had for Rs 61,200
The A-Class Limousine comes in a single fully-specced variant for both engine options. Notable features on this version is the latest NTG 6 iteration of Mercedes' MBUX with the voice assistant and the 10.25-inch touchscreen. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is also included along with the Mercedes me suite of connected-car features. There is Android Auto/Apple Carplay integration as well as wireless charging. Convenience features include the panoramic sunroof, two-zone climate control, ambient lighting, powered front seats, cruise control and LED lighting. The Mercedes A-Class is available in five colour options - Cosmos Black, Denim Blue, Mojave Silver, Polar White and Mountain Grey. The interior is done up in open-pore walnut wood trim and two-tone upholstery.
As for the engines powering the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine, the petrol in the A 200 is a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol co-developed with the Renault-Nissan alliance and making 163PS and 250 Nm. This pairs with a seven-speed DCT. The diesel is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit as seen on the C-Class but detuned here to put out 150PS and 320 Nm. The diesel is mated to an eight-speed DCT.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class competes with the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, replacing the earlier A-Class hatchback and the CLA four-door coupe in the line-up.
