2021 MG ZS EV launched in India, prices start from Rs 20.99 lakh
MG Motor India has launched the 2021 MG ZS EV in India. Prices for the electric SUV start from Rs 20.99 lakh for the base Excite variant, going up to Rs 24.18 lakh for the top Exclusive variant. The base variant's prices remain unchanged by the top trim has seen a Rs 60,000 increase. MG Motor has increased the sales footprint of the EV with this update, the ZS EV will now be available across 31 cities in India.
The notable changes to the ZS EV with this update revolve around the 44.5 kWh battery pack. MG Motor India has revised the pack to better handle temperature and weather changes leading to an improvement in the ARAI-certified range to 419km, from the earlier 340 km. MG Motor India says a real-world range between 300-400km can be expected. The SUV now runs on 215/55 R17 tyres. The new battery is now placed higher in the chassis at 205mm while ground clearance has also increased to 177mm. Another new addition is that the iSmart app now features a gamified CO2 saving counter via the EcoTree Challenge.
The features on offer on the MG ZS EV remain unchanged. The base variant comes with the glowing MG logo around the grille-placed charge port, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto/Apple Carplay and 6 airbags. The top trim further adds the iSmart suite of connected-car features, panoramic sunroof, PM 2.5 air filter, leather seats, powered and heated outer mirrors, six-way powered driver's seat and rain-sensing wipers. The ZS EV continues to put out 143PS and 353 Nm with a 0 to 100 kmph time of 8.5s.
The ZS EV is being offered with the MG Shield suite of after-sales services that includes a free-of-charge five-year/unlimited km warranty, 8 years / 1.5 lakh km warranty on the battery pack system, 24-hour roadside assistance for 5 years, and 5 labour-free services.
