Tata Motors has expanded its Dark Edition all-black cosmetic package to now include most of its lineup. The Tata Nexon, Tata Nexon EV and the Altroz now all get this package as an option on their top models. The Tata Harrier was the first to get these visual enhancements, and that has been updated with this widening of the range. 2021 Tata Nexon Dark EditionThe Tata Nexon Dark Edition should be the most popular of the lot here with the segment it competes in. The Dark upgrade is available on the top XZ+, XZA+, XZ+(O) & XZA+(O) variants in both petrol and diesel options. Prices start from Rs 10.40 lakh, a Rs 45,000 premium over the regular version.
2021 Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition
The Nexon's electric derivative gets the same treatment, although limited to only the mid-spec XZ Plus variant. The Nexon EV's lithium-ion battery is of 30.2kWh capacity and feeds a permanent-magnet AC motor that puts 129PS and 245Nm through the front wheels. This allows for a brisk 0 to 100kmph time of 9.9s, the top speed is limited to 120kmph. Tata Altroz Dark Edition
The Tata Altroz Dark Edition is available only with the petrol versions on just the top XZ+ variant. with the N/A petrol and iTurbo variants. Read our review of the Tata Altroz iTurbo here. The Altroz iTurbo is powered by a detuned version of the three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbo-petrol from the Nexon. The motor makes 110PS at 5,500rpm and 140 Nm at 1,500- 5,500 rpm and pairs with a five-speed manual gearbox, instead of the six-speed in the Nexon. The N/A petrol motor is the 1.2-litre Revotron 3-cylinder, as seen on the Tiago, with 86PS at 6,000rpm and 113Nm at 3,300rpm. The Tata Altroz Dark Edition N/A is priced at Rs 8.71 lakh and the iTurbo at Rs 9.36 lakh.
Tata Harrier Dark Edition
Tata Motors has updated the Tata Harrier Dark Edition with this move. This package is offered from the mid-spec XT Plus version here, unlike the other with prices starting from Rs 18.04 lakh, an Rs 18,000 increase. The XT no longer can be had with the Dark package.
The Tata Harrier is powered by the FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel with 170PS and 350 Nm. This pairs with a six-speed automatic, available on the XM, XZ and XZ+ trims, and a six-speed manual. Notable features the Harrier comes equipped with are auto AC, keyless entry and go, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, auto headlamps and wipers, panoramic sunroof, xenon projector lamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with JBL audio and semi0digital instrument cluster. The Harrier is also the only one to get the military-themed Camo package.
