2021 Volvo S90 mild-hybrid petrol facelifted launched in India at Rs 61.90 lakh
Alongside the refreshed XC60, Volvo India has also launched the Volvo S90 sedan with the same mild-hybrid petrol motor. Priced at Rs 61.90 lakh, same as the SUV, this move completes Volvo's switch to a petrol-only line-up in India, before moving to a predominantly EV range by 2025.
2021 Volvo S90 facelift petrol interiors, features, stylingThe big change with this update is the inclusion of the new Android-based infotainment system. The revised XC60 comes fitted with the same system, the first car infotainment system with Android integration and with the ability to run Google apps and services. A four-year Digital Services package that can be further renewed gives owners full access to these functions that includes Google Assitant, Google Maps and access to the Google Play Store for more apps. Also added is a new PM 2.5 air filter and a phone-based suite of connected car features.
Some minor exterior revisions have also taken place. There is a new grille with chrome slats and a new Volvo emblem while the refreshed bumpers at both ends get chrome highlighting. Crystal White, Bright Silver, Onyx Black and Denim Blue colour options are being offered with the sedan.
2021 Volvo XC60 facelift petrol safetyVolvo's traditional focus on safety continues with the facelifted S90. Just like in the XC60, an updated suite of driver assistance systems has been included with this update which includes adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, lane-keeping aid, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, collision mitigation support (front), collision warning and mitigation support (rear), 360-degree camera and parking assistance (front, rear and side).
2021 Volvo S90 facelift petrol engine, specificationsThe facelifted Volvo S90 is now powered by a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid four-cylinder turbo-petrol that puts out 253PS and 350 Nm and pairs with an eight-speed Aisin torque converter gearbox. The SUV also come with an AWD system with drives modes and adaptive air suspension.
2021 Volvo S90 facelift petrol rivalsThe petrol Volvo XC60 competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, the Audi A6 and the Jaguar XF. Both the S90 and XC60 are being offered with a three-year service package at Rs 75,000
