2022 Honda City Hybrid Vs Petrol CVT VS Diesel MT: Variants explained
Honda Cars India has launched the Honda City e:HEV hybrid in a single top-spec ZX variant. This hybrid sedan is priced at Rs 19.50 lakh which is about Rs 4 lakh more than the standard ZX petrol CVT. The Honda City range starts from Rs 11.38 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Honda Is now available in 3 different powertrains. Petrol, a diesel and a hybrid. The 1.5-litre petrol unit produces 121PS and is paired to a manual gearbox as standard but is also in a CVT. The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 100PS and 200 Nm of torque and can only be had in a manual gearbox.
The Honda City e:HEV is powered by a Hybrid powertrain. It uses a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors, offering a combined output of 126PS and 253 Nm. This powertrain is available in a single top-spec variant and CVT gearbox.
The Honda City e:HEV has a claimed range of 26.5 kmpl, but after we were done testing this new powertrain, we managed to get roughly around 19 kmpl from it.
