2022 Skoda Karoq facelift debuts internationally
Skoda Auto has unveiled the facelifted Skoda Karoq internationally. The two-row Karoq sits below the Kodiaq in the Cech brand's SUV hierarchy and the pre-facelift version was sold in India as a CBU in limited numbers in 2020.
The most significant changes have taken place to the styling of the Skoda Karoq. The SUV now gets the new Skoda family face with the widened butterfly grille and the slimmer headlamps with a stepped two-part look. The headlamps can now also be had as Matrix LEDs. The bumpers have been livened up with more prominent cuts to the body coloured panels while the airdam has also been widened. There are new allow wheels along the sides while at the rear there is again a slimmer LED taillamps cluster with new detailing. Two new colour options have been added - Phoenix orange metallic and Graphite grey metallic. A Karoq Sportline version has now also been added, which brings with a sportier-looking bumper, dark trim and larger alloy wheels up to 20-inches in size.
2022 Skoda Karoq facelift interior, features
The interiors of the Karoq have remained largely unchanged. There is a new vegan seat fabric made from recycled PET bottles while a new colour combination has also been introduced here. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster has been made standard while the larger 10.25-inch instrument cluster has been updated to include more functions. The Laura digital assistant has also been introduced to the three infotainment choices ranging from 8 to 9.2-inches. A suite of driver assistant systems has also been added while a powered front passenger seat has been added to the features list.
The top Sportline variant of the Skoda Karoq adds sportier single-piece seats and upholstery, a different steering wheel and other touches.
2022 Skoda Karoq facelift engines
The Skoda Karoq can be had with three petrol engines, a 1.0-litre TSI with 110PS, a 1.5-litre motor with cylinder deactivation that makes 150PS and a 2.0-litre turbo making 190PS. Two diesel options are also on offer, both 2.0-litre units which make 115PS and 150PS. A seven-speed DCT is available as is AWD.
2022 Skoda Karoq facelift India launch date
The facelift Karoq may eventually launch in India, although there is no confirmation from Skoda India. We expect to see a limited run like earlier when the launch does happen.
