2023 BMW Z4 M40i Roadster launched in India; prices start at Rs 89.30 lakh
BMW has launched the 2023 Z4 M40i Roadster in India, with prices starting at Rs 89.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The carmaker has brought the two-seater convertible to the country via the CBU route, and it will be available in showrooms from June 2023 onwards.
Design of the 2023 BMW Z4 M40i Roadster
The 2023 Z4 M40i Roadster features sporty and aggressive styling with a touch of contemporary BMW design language. The key extwerior highlights includes a new kidney grille with a hexagonal inner structure, large air inlets, vertical LED headlights, and a long bonnet that stretches over the wheel arches. The M40i variant also benefits from Cerium Grey painted grille and mirror caps, and a trapezoidal exhaust system.
As a roadster, it uses a conventional fabric soft-top, which can be electrically operated. Opening or closing the roof takes just 10 seconds with the touch of a button and can be done while driving at speeds of up to 50kmph (31mph). Additionally, the Z4 M40i comes with specially designed 19-inch M light alloy wheels.
The India-spec Z4 M40i is available in a choice of seven colour options: Black Sapphire, San Francisco Red, non-metallic Alpine White, and an optional BMW Individual matte shade called Frozen Grey II. There are also three new paint schemes available, namely Thundernight, Skyscraper Grey, and Portimao Blue.

The standard interior trim for the Z4 M40i features an aluminum mesh effect, combined with leather and Alcantara upholstery, paired with blue contrast stitching and piping. BMW also offers three distinctive upholstery options in Vernasca leather: Black, Cognac, and Magma Red.
Other features include dual-zone temperature control, ambient lighting, powered front seats with memory settings for the driver, BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a 10.25-inch driver display, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, among others.
Performance of the 2023 BMW Z4 M40i Roadster
Powering the Z4 M40i Roadster is a 2,998cc inline six-cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged petrol engine producing 340PS and 500Nm of torque. It can sprint from zero to 100kmph in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph.
