2023 Hyundai Venue details leaked; gets more powerful engine
Hyundai appears to be readying the 2023 Venue for India launch soon as its details have been leaked on the internet. The updated SUV will boast a more powerful diesel engine and updated features.
2023 Hyundai Venue new diesel engine
While the current Venue is powered by a 1.5-litre, inline-four, turbo-diesel engine making 100PS, the upcoming 2023 Venue, as seen in the leaked documents, will get an updated 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel motor that produces 115PS. It will be only mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The new diesel engine will get a variable-geometry turbocharger instead of the outgoing motor's fixed-geometry turbocharger.
Apart from the change to the diesel powertrain, Hyundai will carry forward the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and 1.0-litre turbocharged engines for the 2023 version of the SUV. Meanwhile, Hyundai will offer the 2023 Venue diesel in a choice of three variants: S+, SX, and SX(O). The petrol variants will be available in five variants: E, S, S(O), SX, and SX(O).
2023 Hyundai Venue features updates
To begin with, the side airbags will be offered in the S(O) petrol and above variants, while the six airbags are exclusive to the top-spec SX(O) variants. On the other hand, the brand will bestow the SX diesel variant with side airbags and six airbags in the top-spec SX(O) variant. The SX and SX(O) petrol will be the only variants to offer rear seat recline and armrest with cup holders, while the same features will be available only in the SX(O) diesel. Moreover, Hyundai will provide 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels exclusively with the top-spec SX(O) variants.
2023 Hyundai Venue launch and prices
The South Korean automaker is expected to launch the updated 2023 Venue and 2023 Venue N Line in India in the coming weeks. With the updated powertrain and features, the upcoming Venue is likely to attract a higher premium over the outgoing model. Currently, the prices of the Venue start at Rs 7.68 lakh and go up to Rs 13.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
