2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC mileage and colour options revealed

Mercedes-Benz India has already opened its order bookings for the new generation GLC and has announced that the SUV will make its India debut on August 9, 2023. The new GLC, which will be available in two variants, 300 4Matic and 220d 4Matic, is Mercedes' best-selling vehicle in India. Prospective buyers may reserve their new GLC for a token deposit of Rs 1.50 lakh.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Powertrain and Mileage

Mercedes will obviously offer the SUV in petrol and diesel powertrain options. The GLC 300 will come powered by a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 258PS and 400Nm and will return a claimed fuel efficiency of 14.72kmpl. There is also a GLC 220d that will get a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit that makes 197PS and 440Nm of torque and will return a claimed mileage of 19.47kmpl.

It is to be noted that both engines feature mild hybrid functionality, providing a boost of 23PS and 200Nm. Both motors are paired with a 9G Tronic automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive as standard.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Colour and Dimensions

The facelifted GLC is available in five colours: Nautic Blue, Mojave Silver, Selenite Grey, Polar White, and Obsidian Black.

The SUV measures 4,716mm in length, 2,075mm in width, and 1,640mm in height. The wheelbase of GLC is now slightly increased to 2,888mm. In fact, Mercedes has widened its front and rear track width by 6mm and 23mm, respectively.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Cabin and Features

The newly designed interior features a new-gen MBUX setup with a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with biometric authentication. Additionally, Mercedes has given it a new steering wheel, new seats, and C-Class-inspired air-con vents. Similar to the other latest Mercedes-Benz cars, the MBUX trackpad in the GLC has been replaced with cubby holders and a wireless charging pad.

The all-new GLC comes equipped with a new off-road mode with a 'transparent bonnet' function and enhanced ADAS. Plus, there is a 360deg camera, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a Burmester surround system, a heads-up display, 64 colours ambient lighting, and multi-zone temperature control. Also on offer is an engineering package with airmatic air suspension and rear-axle steering, and progressive digital headlamps as optional extras.

Prices of the new GLC are likely to range between Rs 65 lakh and 70 lakh. Upon launch, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC will renew its competition with the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q3, and Volvo XC40 in India.
