2023 Tata Nexon facelift interior spied while being tested

The updated Tata Nexon prototype model has been spotted testing yet again and this time we get a closer look at the new interior of the car. The current Tata Nexon is leading the SUV segment in India in terms of sales. A new batch of images shows us what the new Nexon's inside would look like and it's safe to say that much of it is borrowed from the Tata Curvv concept.

The dashboard of the upcoming Tata Nexon SUV has been extensively reworked. As we mentioned, it has the same two-spoke steering wheel as the Curvv. The driver's display is still a separate console but it's likely to be the new 7-inch device used in Harrier and Safari.

The majority of the dashboard has been obscured, but the floating entertainment system and an A-pillar-mounted speaker can be seen. There appear to be paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, albeit they are not clearly visible. The infotainment system might be the 10-inch touchscreen seen on the Nexon EV Max Dark variant.

Keep in my that this is a massive upgrade over the tiny one that is offered on the current version of the compact SUV. Beneath it are the new toggle-type switches for climate control, as well as a touch panel to access additional functions, which is a clear homage to the Curvv idea.

The wireless phone charger and a rotary dial for the drive selector will continue to hold their place at the bottom of the console.

The upcoming refreshed Nexon is believed to get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like the recently launched Safari and Harrier. Additionally, Tata may bestow it with a 360-degree camera, electric parking brake with auto hold, LED headlamps, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.

The Tata Nexon's appearance is set to undergo significant revisions. We may glimpse a Curvy-inspired front design in the spy pictures. As a result, a new DRL arrangement and headlamp design will be introduced.

It is said that the updated Tata Nexon is expected to get a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor generating 125PS and 225Nm of torque. Notably, this engine complies with the BS6 phase-2 (RDE) norms and can run on E20 fuel. The 1.2-litre could be mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Meanwhile, Tata is likely to retain the same 1.5-litre diesel unit as the on-sale model.
