2023 Yamaha YZF-R3, MT-03 India launch tomorrow
Yamaha is all set to introduce the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 in India on December 15, launching the two motorcycles initially as CBU units via its premium Blue Square touchpoints. The heart of the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 lies in a 320cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering 42PS at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm of torque at 9,000rpm (29.6Nm in the MT-03). Coupled with a six-speed gearbox, the R3 claims a mileage of 25.4kmpl based on the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC).
2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03: SpecificationsBoth the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 boast KYB upside-down front forks, an adjustable rear mono-shock, a 298mm front disc coupled with a 220mm rear disc setup, a slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, a fully digital LCD console, and all-LED lights. The tyre setup comprises a 110/70 17 front and 140/70 17 rear units.
In recent updates, Yamaha refreshed the YZF-R3 for the 2023 model year, introducing a new purple paint option and LED indicators. The supersport now offers three new colours: Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, Black Metallic, and Dark Blueish Purple Metallic. Similarly, the MT-03 will likely be available in three shades in India.

Anticipating the CBU route, the 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 are expected to be priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 4.50 lakh. Once launched, the 2023 YZF-R3 will compete with models, such as the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, and Kawasaki Ninja 400. Meanwhile, the MT-03 is set to rival the 2024 KTM 390 Duke, Harley-Davidson X440, and Triumph Speed 400.
