2024 Ducati DesertX Rally launched: Top highlights
Ducati has introduced the 2024 DesertX Rally in India, priced at Rs 23.7 lakh (ex-showroom), which is costlier by over Rs 5 lakh compared to the standard DesertX. This off-road-oriented Rally version of the DesertX comes with several enhancements, including a special paint job, upgraded suspension, and lighter wheels.
First up, the DesertX Rally is equipped with an off-road suspension, featuring a 48mm upside down front forks and a monoshock with 20mm of additional travel. This setup designed by KYB provides 250mm of suspension travel at the front and 240mm at the rear, improving the bike's capability to handle challenging terrains. Additionally, the Rally version offers increased ground clearance of 280mm, up from 250mm on the standard model.
Ducati has fitted the DesertX Rally with new Ohlins steering damper, a forged carbon sump guard, and various components made of aluminum, such as an aluminium swingarm with a different attachment point compared to the standard model. There are also new Takasago Excel wire-spoke rims with billet aluminum hubs. Not only these are lighter but also stronger and capable of handling toughest off-road conditions.
The DesertX Rally gets M50 monobloc radial callipers with four 30mm diameter pistons, axial master-cylinder with adjustable levers, dual 320 mm front discs with aluminium flange and split brake line, while there is a single 265mm disc at the rear with dual-piston floating calliper.
Further, the brand has given it multi-level traction control, six ride modes, ABS modes, quickshifter, and wheelie control, cornering ABS, and smartphone connectivity via Ducati Media System.
Ducati DesertX Rally: DesignDesertX Rally comes with a new paint job with special-edition graphics, and a taller off-road mudguard. The new mass-coloured plastics and adhesives PVC graphics promise improved durability against scratches and dings often experienced in off-road riding.

The DesertX Rally continues with the 937cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 110PS and 92Nm of torque. This motor is coupled to a six-speed gearbox.
