2024 KTM 390 Duke revealed
Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has officially unveiled the hotly anticipated all-new 390 Duke, ushering in the latest generation of the popular streetfighter. The upgraded model boasts a completely redesigned appearance, a larger displacement engine, and a suite of modern features. Simultaneously, KTM has also introduced enhancements to its new 250 Duke and 125 Duke models.
2024 KTM 390 Duke: EngineThe most significant transformation in the new 390 Duke lies in its powertrain, which is a new 399cc single-cylinder LC4C liquid-cooled engine coupled with a six-speed gearbox. While the specific power output figures are yet to be disclosed, it is expected that this new power plant will be more potent than its predecessor. It could produce power output similar to the recently launched Triumph Speed 400.
2024 KTM 390 Duke: Features and SpecificationsEmbracing modern technology, the 2024 KTM 390 Duke boasts an array of advanced electronics. These include a new five-inch colour TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, launch control, a slipper clutch, a quick-shifter, three distinct riding modes (Street, Rain, and Track), ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS with cornering ABS capabilities, and more. Notably, the motorcycle also presents a revamped switchgear design, featuring a new hazard light switch.
In the realm of hardware, the new 390 Duke is equipped with 43mm WP Apex open cartridge upside-down front forks with adjustable compression and rebound, a WP Apex offset rear monoshock with preload and five-step rebound adjustment, a fresh 320mm front disc brake complemented by a four-piston radial fixed calliper, a 240mm rear disc brake accompanied by a two-piston floating calliper, and dual-channel ABS complemented by cornering and Supermoto ABS features. The updated model rides on new alloy wheels fitted with Michelin tires.
2024 KTM 390 Duke: DesignA striking departure from its predecessor, the new-gen 390 Duke showcases an entirely new design language, exuding a sportier and more aggressive aesthetic. The motorcycle's appearance is characterised by sharp angles, distinctive panels, a redesigned LED headlight incorporating integrated split daytime running lights, prominent fuel tank shrouds, a new fuel tank design, an underbelly exhaust system, and a split seat configuration. Structural enhancements include a new die-cast aluminium sub-frame, a steel trellis frame, and a curved aluminium swingarm. The seat height measures 820mm, with an option to reduce it to 800mm for rider comfort.
2024 KTM 390 Duke: India Launch and PriceWhile specific details about the India launch of the all-new 390 Duke are yet to be unveiled, industry speculation points towards a possible debut during the upcoming festival season. It is anticipated that the upgraded model will command a higher price compared to the existing model, which is priced at Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the 2024 KTM 390 Duke will enter into competition with rivals such as the Triumph Speed 400, Harley-Davidson X440, and BMW G 310 R in the Indian market.
