2024 Tata Safari facelift spotted testing
A fully camouflaged prototype model of the 2024 Tata Safari facelift has been spied testing in Nice street, Bangalore, Karnataka. While the brand has already commenced reservations for the 2023 Tata Safari and Harrier with new features, the mid-cycle facelift is likely to bring a significant update to its design.
2024 Tata Safari facelift: Exterior
As seen in the pictures, the Safari facelift prototype model was wearing a full-body camouflage to conceal the near-production-ready body. The upcoming SUV facelift is expected to bear a new face with a full-length light bar, new vertically-positioned LED headlamps, and redesigned grille. Overall, it will draw inspiration from the Harrier EV concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. The rear could feature reshaped taillights with a light strip running across its width and a redesigned bumper. Additionally, the Safari facelift prototype also had new alloy wheels.
2024 Tata Safari facelift: Interior
The 2023 Safari and Harrier have already received a new touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Thus, the Safari facelift may carry forward the same units. However, it would be surprising if Tata redesigned its interior for a fresh look.
2024 Tata Safari facelift: Powertrain
The on-sale Safari is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine generating 170PS and 350Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Notably, it adheres to RDE (BS6 stage-2) emission regulations. While the 2024 Safari facelift could have the same diesel unit, it is also likely to get a new 1.5-litre, inline-four, turbocharged (TGDi) petrol engine that makes 170PS and 280Nm of torque. Tata showcased its new engines at the 2023 Auto Expo. These new engines are not only BS6 phase 2-compliant but can also run on E20 fuel.
