2024 Toyota Vellfire launched globally
Toyota Motor Corporation has finally launched the new Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV globally. This follows the recent introduction of the opulent Lexus LM, a mechanically similar car built on the same TNGA-K platform. Along with the Vellfire, Toyota has launched the Alphard but we only anticipate the former to come to India later this year.
The boxy minivan has a length of 4,995 mm and a large wheelbase of 3,000 mm. It is also 1,850 mm wide, with a height of 1,935 mm or 1,945 mm depending on the model and trim level. In a 2+2+2 configuration with second-row captain's seats, the Vellfire can seat up to six passengers.
The new Toyota Vellfire looks sleeker and more sporty than the previous model sold here, with a big front grille resembling a Lexus, better-integrated headlights with the bonnet, and DRLs placed below it. The front also gets large air intakes with a chrome strip running the length of the bumper, and unique wheel designs that are larger than most Alphard variants.
2024 Toyota Vellfire: Powertrains
The premium MPV is available in front- or all-wheel drive configurations, as well as a hybrid engine, with a plug-in hybrid option to follow later. The Vellfire's turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine is the most powerful of the lot. It's "tuned to deliver a sporty sound," with 279PS and 430 Nm of torque.
Customers can also choose a hybrid powered by a 2.5-litre gasoline engine with a total output of 250PS.
2024 Toyota Vellfire: InteriorInside, new Toyota Vellfire models are set to receive minor upgrades. Captain seats with Ottoman function, ambient LED lighting on the ceiling, tri-zone air conditioning, Toyota telematics system, full leather seats, premium sound system, and full digital rearview mirror are already standard equipment on existing models.
A big, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, automated parking brake, cruise control, moonroof, and wireless charging are among the other attractions. 7 SRS airbags, vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS, braking assist, EBD, hill start assist control, and a blind spot monitor are included in the safety kit.
2024 Toyota Vellfire: India launchThe Toyota Vellfire retails at Rs 96.55 lakh in a single trim in India. Keeping in mind the car has gained quite a bit of popularity in India, we expect more than just a single variant to come to the Indian shores.
