2024 Triumph Tiger 1200 launched; prices start at Rs 19.39 lakh
Triumph Motorcycles India has launched the 2024 Tiger 1200 line-up, including the GT Pro and Rally Pro. They cost Rs 19.39 lakh and Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The updates include refinements to the engine, improved ergonomics, reworked cornering ground clearance, reduced seat height with Active Preload Reduction, and fresh colours. The Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer now come in Carnival Red (new), Snowdonia White,â¨and Sapphire Black. Whereas, the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer are available in Matt Sandstorm (new), Jet Black, and Matt Khaki. Customers in India can order the Explorer trims on pre-order.
The 1160cc triple-cylinder engine now has been tweaked to deliver refinement over its predecessor. This makes 150PS at 9,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. With changes to the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer to increase engine inertia, plus some engine calibration changes, the Triumph has claimed to create a smoother and more precise low rev torque delivery. Further, the new clutch lever design for a smoother engagement when changing into first gear.
The dampened handlebars and risers, which were available with the Explorer models, now come to the GT Pro and Rally Pro. Then, the rider seat has been re-designed with a flatter profile, providing more space for the rider. The optional accessory low seat, which reduces the seat position by 20mm to give a lowest seat height of 830mm on the GT Pro and 855mm on the Rally Pro. For the GT Pro and Explorer, Triumph has increased the cornering ground clearance by lifting the footpeg positions and moving them closer to the motorcycle.
The new Active Preload Reduction feature, which was revealed in August 2023, reduces the rear suspension preload as the motorcycle slows to a stop, lowering the seat height by up to 20mm, simply by pressing the 'Home' button on the switch cube for one second.
Triumph offers a host of features with the 2024 Tiger 1200, such as Blind Spot Radar System (GT Explorer and Rally Explorer only), Showa semi-active suspension, seven-inch TFT instrument with My Triumph Connectivity, optimised cornering traction control with IMU, up to six riding modes, keyless system, adaptive cornering lights, quickshifter, heated grips and seats (heated seats standard on GT Explorer and Rally Explorer only), TPMS (standard on GT Explorer & Rally Explorer only), and hill hold, among others.
