2024 TVS Apache RR 310 likely to be launched soon

TVS Motors is readying the updated RR 310 for the global unveiling, which is likely to take place on 16 September. 2024 Apache RR 310 launch, set to take place on September 16, 2024. A recently sent invitation to publications mentions a world premiere date of a new offering and a board showing off the fastest lap record at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

A test mule of the RR 310 was spotted a few days ago with front winglets that we usually see on the liter-class superbikes, such as the Ducati Panigale V4 or BMW S1000RR. They play an all-important role in the motorcycles' overall aerodynamics to create the downforce, offering stability while cornering and braking. These pair of wings can create 30-50kg of downforce at high speeds of 180kmph.

Coming back to the record shown in the teaser, the motorcycle achieves a lap time of 1:49.742 and records a top speed of 215.9kmph. In November 2022, the race-spec RR 310 clocked the best lap time of 1:50.850 at the Chang International Circuit and was able to achieve a top speed of 211.3kmph.

We expect TVS to offer more features on the updated RR 310, such as traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, bi-directional quickshifter, riding modes, and upgraded instrument console, among others. The motorcycle may also get a revamped face and fresh colours.

Powering the on-sale RR 310 is a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-valve DOHC engine that generates 34PS at 9,7000rpm and 27.3Nm of torque at 7,700rpm. This motor is coupled to a six-speed gearbox. With that being said, our expectation from TVS is to optimise the engine and exceed the performance of the Apache RTR 310, which has 35.6PS and 28.7Nm of torque. Vibrations have been a major issue with this engine and it was relatively more noticeable on the Apache RTR 310. In fact, TVS also held a camp mainly to address some issues, such as high vibrations and throttle response lag.
