2025 Skoda compact SUV: Everything we know so far
Skoda India has now begun its next phase of expansion in the country, at the head of which will be a new compact SUV. Here's what we know of this SUV so far.
2025 Skoda compact SUV launch timeline, expected pricesSkoda India says the new compact SUV will launch a year from now, by March 2025. This will coincide with price announcements and test drives for customers. The company has already begun preliminary training of its personnel preparing for this.
The new SUV should also be priced competitively, considering it is expected to generat 1 lakh units in sales in the few years post its launch, so expect prices to start from around Rs 6 to 7 lakh.
2025 Skoda compact SUV engines, platformThe new SUV will join one of the most crowded segments in the Indian market. The Czech brand knows its late to the party but has certain differentiators that it hopes will draw buyers to it. The big difference is that this SUV will use the same MQB-A0-IN architecture as the Kushaq. Skoda promises this will mean a space advantage for their compact SUV, although a shorter wheelbase iteration of this structure is expected to be used.
The engines too will be carried over, so the 1.0-litre TSI with its 115PS and 178 Nm can be expected. This should pair with the same 6-speed manual and AT. But a big differentiator will be if Skoda also decides to bring in the larger 1.5-litre motor, which will give this compact SUV a notable performance advantage over other sub-four-meter SUVs currently available.
2025 Skoda compact SUV stylingThe new Skoda SUV will also be the first of these localized offerings to get the Czech brand's new design philosophy. The teaser shows a split lamp set-up so expect a wide, swept back lamp as well as simpler surfaces. The rear could get wide, sweeping taillamps much like in the new Kodiaq.
