Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate debuts as a swansong for the DBS
British sports car marque Aston Martin has revealed the DBS 770 Ultimate âÂ" a swansong for the DBS moniker and the iconic V12 mill. To bid them a final farewell, it produced the most powerful Aston Martin to date and the 770 Ultimate is also the fastest and most powerful DBS ever.
Offered in Coupe and Volante body styles, this Aston Martin's production is limited to 449 examples worldwide (300 units of Coupe and 199 of Volante). Unsurprisingly, all units have already sold out, thus the firm has closed its order books. Its deliveries are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2023.
Aston Martin has made sure that the DBS nameplate gets a proper send-off with its final edition. Therefore, the DBS 770 Ultimate features an updated twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 mill to generate 770PS at 6,500rpm and 900Nm of torque from 1,800rpm to 5,000rpm. With this, the Gaydon's flagship tops out at 211mph.
To achieve that extra grunt, Aston Martin has tweaked air and ignition pathways along with an increment of seven per cent in turbo boost pressure. Its eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission has also been calibrated to improve shift speeds.
With a more potent engine, the DBS 770 Ultimate comes with Carbon Ceramic Braking (CCB) system. To enhance its steering response and feedback, it features a new solid-mount steering column.
In addition, Aston Martin has added a tweaked cross member at the front and a thicker rear undertray. The former has helped improve front-end lateral stiffness by 25 per cent, while the latter has global torsional stiffness by three per cent. Last but not least, the DBS 770 Ultimate's Adaptive Damping System (ADS) has been tuned too.
In terms of design, the DBS' clamshell bonnet boasts a new horse-shoe engine vent, a new front splitter, and new air outlets for enhanced cooling. Along with carbon fibre elements, the DBS 770 Ultimate features a fresh set of 21-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero rubber.
Inside, Aston Martin has outfitted the DBS with sports plus seats draped in quilted semi-aniline leather and Alcantara. Additionally, it gets an exclusive trim, carbon fibre paddle shifters, and laser-etched DBS 770 Ultimate logos on the centre armrest. Not to mention, the sports car features model designation plaques.
